Yes those are good things to look for but also look for what the area is like, what is there to do for recreation? You don't want to get bored.

Also look for crime rates in your local area. Safety is very important for retirement, and theft can be common in bad areas of town.

Safety should be the uttermost priority before considering a location as there is a sudden increase in crime committed towards elder people's. They are the easier victims for theft and crime. So, its better to find a location which is more safe rather then going for remote areas away from your local network.
