  You make a good point that “long distance” care giving is applicable to those situations when you are not there, whether you are thirty minutes or 3000 miles.

  There are things that can be done with a home that will prevent, most wanders, from escaping. However, someone needs to be living inside the house with them.

  Greetings,

  Have you ever gotten into the situation with your aging parent, that you were taking care of long distance, where you “lost them”?   They didn’t answer phones, cell phones, emails or the like.

  What did you do, short of calling the police?

  I am trying give another person some ideas for managing his father more effectively.
