Developing Chi

What does “chi” man and what does it feel like. When practicing the Tai Chi Chuan forms the energy, or “chi” is enhanced. Its development can only be effective if you are relaxed.

After a period of time, usually three to six months, fundemental learning of the tai chi form itself should be mastered. The next steps entail a focus on breathing and balance.

This is the beginning of developing your chi.

There is a reason why the Chinese use the saying,”A journey of million miles begins with the first step”. So too for us Grey hairs. We are at top of our Mt and looking over a vast horizon of possibilities. What you choose to do with these is up to you. Chi is energy and energy both physically and mentally fuels our existence.
Begin in the beginning and not worry about form, appearance and the million of questions stopping you from doing.
Chi can be compared to tuning in a radio, off station and you have static on station and you an have the choice of beautiful music. Ability to tune yourself in begins with quieting your thinking and be in the moment you are in just as i am in this typing moment right now.
Find a place or create a place of quietness were you may begin to tune yourself in, into yourself into your surroundings
this is your time not to be shared with anyone but yourself and your mind.
From here you can begin your journey to discovery self discovery, world discovery. All matter to you is between your ears it’s up to you to research and find this ‘Chi within you. Nice and easy it goes until you feel it flow. Now let it go follow it were it goes it’s path is one of energy and enlightenment.
Tons of literature and many streams of thought to chose from but it all starts by beginning.

Try this exercise: do the tai chi form at the same pace as your breathing…..breathe very slowly. At first just try it for the first part (25%) of the form & let me know how it feels.
