Love and freedom are not two different issues in life. Love and freedom combined mean security ya
and trust. The nursing home might seem like the
best idea because of it’s safety and staffing, if a
good one is chosen for the senior citizen. Yet it
can’t provide the freedom and privacy that the
home environment can. Perhaps it is better
to call a nursing home “a place of institutional
living for the elderly”. Many times a nursing
home serves as the next logical step for hospitals
when the elderly patient is stabilized and past a
crisis point. Yet what nursing homes often are
are protective domes for unwanted elderly folk.
The elderly patient may have become convinced
that any conditions and/or illnesses they have
are intractable since they are old. A caring
family member can make all the difference!
Our loved ones are our most precious
commodity. God loves each and every one of
us.
Growing old is a beautiful thing. It is God’s
GRACE personified! Each and every passing
day in an elderly person’s life can be filled with
serenity and joy . Each day can be a victory.
And for an
elderly couple just being together
at home takes on a very special meaning. And
when an elderly person speaks pay attention.
They need all the LOVE AND CARING we can
give them!
